gG1 is the recombinant mature glycoprotein G for herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). The glycoprotein G, an envelope protein of unknown function has been suggested as a prototype antigen for type-specifc HSV-1 serology. Several studies have demonstrated that IgG test using immunoassay or immunoblot based on the specific glycoprotein G is the most accurate method for discrimination HSV-1 and HSV-2.
Recombinant antigen for the diagnosis of Oral herpes caused by Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), a human infectious disease.
